Wow, I just realized that this is incredibly late. Lol sorry D;
But to answer your question, I was taught music theory and guitar at a school for a good 2 and a half years but I relied heavily on just learning songs on my own and using my ears to figure out what sounds pleasing to the ear hahaha. In terms of techniques and all that, that’s all thanks to watching John Mayer and Gabe Bondoc to name a few (:
